Master Guide Investiture
Dakota Conference Master Guide Investiture
Ten Pathfinder leaders were invested as Master Guides Sabbath afternoon, June 8, 2013, at the Dakota Conference campmeeting by Master Guide Anne Wham, the Pathfinder director for the conference. These ten people have reached the highest level of achievement in Adventist Youth Ministries. The Master Guide program has been called the PhD of Youth Ministries within the Adventist church.
The investiture achievement tracks these candidates pursued included personal growth, spiritual discovery, serving others, making friends, health and fitness, outdoor living and honor enrichment. From the beginning the goal of the Pathfinder program is the commitment of a life to Jesus Christ and the equipping of habits, skill and knowledge to live for Jesus each day. The Adventurer pledge is "Because Jesus loves me, I will always do my best."
Wham invited four young people to accompany the Master Guides and Guide candidates to the platform to demonstrate the program's progression of youth ministries. Trent (TJ) Millirans Jr from Mandan, North Dakota represnted the Little Lambs; Zackary Thomas of Grassy Butte, North Dakota represented the Adventurers; Colter Roffler and Alex Thomas, also of Grassy Butte, represented the Pathfinders.
Those invested as Master Guides were Jody and Coreen Schumacher, daughter and mother of Lehr, ND; Joann and Charles O’Hare, husband and wife of Bismarck, ND; Tiffany and Kent Thomas, husband and wife of Grassy Butte, ND; Charlene Shrock of Nome, ND; Nichole Roffler of Grassy Butte, ND; Darla McCrary of Watertown, SD; and Sheryl Lund of Bottineau, ND.
