Agnes (Boyko) Warbitsky of Butte, ND is the 12th of 14 children born to Ukrainian immigrants in Greatstone Township of McLean County. She celebrated her 103rd birthday January 7, 2017 with family and friends. Warbitsky graduated from Minot State, then known as Normal Training College, and taught in country schools for ten years.  Warbitsky was featured in the May 2014 Outlook magazine as a centenarian. Warbitsky is a member of the Turtle Lake Church.


Members of the Invitation Hill Adventist Church and School in Dickinson, ND built an ice sanctuary. It was a cold and windy day as hardy recruits spent hours building the sanctuary and all the accompanying furniture associated with the sanctuary. Willie and Briana Hale of the church and teacher Janna Wright of the school help see the project through. Outlook magazine will feature the story in its April Dakota pages.


Lehr Adventist Church enjoyed their first Community Singspiration February 22, 2017 in the Lehr Adventist Church, Lehr, ND. It was a local-talent program enjoyed by all attending. Fresh fruit and a drink were served as refreshments. Several requested that it become an annual event so they could participate in the future.


Rapid City Adventist Elementary School held its first annual Black Tie Gala at the National Guard complex in Rapid City, SD. Students waited tables, an auctioneer emceed the night and auctioned desserts and artwork made by church members and students. Over $2000 was raised for school special projects.

Dr. Jon Paulien of Loma Linda University presented Stages of Faith at the 22nd Annual Men's Retreat held in Aberdeen, SD March 10 - 12, 2017. Presentations were also provided by Ed Dickerson of Nebraska, Brooks Payne of Michigan, and Elder Neil Biloff of North Dakota. Next years reatreat will be held at the Roughrider Inn in Medora, ND March 9 - 11, 2018.   Adventist Campus Ministries held an apologetics conference in Wahpeton and Fargo, ND February 15, 2017. The Universe and God - The Cosmos Confirms Creation and the Reality of an Amazing and Wonderful Creator was presented by Tiffany Summerscales, associate professor in the Physics Deparment of Andres University. She is a member of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) collarboration, which recently discovered Gravity Waves.   Dakota Adventist Academy held a Music and Arts Festival February 22 -25, 2017. Schools attended from Brentwood (Bismarck, ND), Invitation Hill (Dickinson, ND), Hillcrest (Jamestown, ND), Rapid City, SD, Prairie Voyager (Grand Forks, ND), Red River (Fargo, ND), Red River Valley Junior Academy (Winnipeg, Canada) and Sioux Falls, SD. Students from Summit, SD, Watertown, SD and Voltaire, ND public schools also attended.   Students from DAA enjoyed a few days at Union College in Lincoln, NE in February 15 - 19, 2017 at a basketball tournament. The men's team represented DAA well with their "never-give-up" attitude although they lost the final game. An email stated, "...impressed with their all-out effort throughout the whole game. It speaks well for their character, the coaching they are receiving, and how positively they represented the shcool."
